Compare the Toyota Siennato the Honda Odyssey and Kia Sedona

See How the Toyota Sienna Stacks Up Against Its Van Counterparts In the Kia Sedona & Honda Odyssey.

Your Williamsport family can take on today in a new Toyota Sienna minivan. The Toyota Sienna welcomes all-new styling, a new interior design, and a top-level Platinum trim addition with luxury features that your Muncy family will enjoy. This family minivan features second-row seats sliding 25 inches and a standard hybrid powertrain. The Toyota Sienna showcases a little bit of everything.

That's one reason why it's one of the most popular minivans on the market for Muncy motorists. Still, Ciocca Toyota of Williamsport understands you want to do your homework on the minivan competition before making a family decision. That's why we let the Toyota Sienna speak for itself while comparing it to a pair of van competitors in the Honda Odyssey and Kia Sedona.

Toyota Sienna vs Honda Odyssey

The Toyota Sienna is powered by a hybrid powertrain, a 2.5-liter inline-4 engine that teams up with electric motors to produce 243 total horsepower. The fuel-efficient Toyota Sienna earns 36/36 (city/highway) miles per gallon and offers all-wheel drive. The Honda Odyssey doesn't offer all-wheel drive or a hybrid variant. The Odyssey's 3.5-liter V6 engine achieves 280 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque, but it earns a dismal 19/28 miles per gallon.

The Toyota Sienna touts a 9-inch infotainment touchscreen with Apple CarPlayĀ®, Android Autoā„¢ and Amazon Alexa compatibility and tri-zone climate control. All are standard, unlike in the Honda Odyssey, which only offers an 8-inch touchscreen. Apple CarPlayĀ® and Android Autoā„¢ are available but not standard. The Odyssey has automatic climate control but no tri-zone feature. Honda's minivan offers an available 11-speaker premium audio system, but it doesn't top the Toyota Sienna's available 12-speaker, 12,000-watt JBL premium audio system.

Both vans can seat up to eight passengers. The Honda Odyssey's Magic SlideĀ® seats are similar to the Toyota Sienna's Super-Long-Slide Second-Row Seats, as the captain chairs can slide 25 inches fore and aft. Both vans feature a rear-seat entertainment system, and an onboard vacuum and refrigerator are available in each.

Toyota Sienna vs Kia Sedona

The Kia Sedona may boast a more vigorous powertrain with a 3.3-liter V6 that produces 276 horsepower and 248 pound-feet of torque, but Kia's fan doesn't offer all-wheel drive or a hybrid powertrain. It's miles behind in fuel economy ratings, earning a meager 18/24 miles per gallon, only half of the Toyota Sienna's 36/36 miles per gallon with its hybrid powertrain that still achieves 243 horsepower.

The Kia Sedona also falters in safety, failing to offer several important driver-assist technology as standard. Helpful safety features are available, but not until upper trims. The Toyota Sienna, meanwhile, touts Toyota Safety Sense 2.0ā„¢, which includes all of the following standard safety features:

  • Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection
  • Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist
  • Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control
  • Lane Tracing Assist
  • Automatic High Beams
  • Road Sign Assist
  • Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert
  • Rear Seat Reminder

Williamsport drivers can keep their family entertained with the Toyota Sienna's rear seat entertainment system with an 11.6-inch display. The Sedona has a less impressive rear seat entertainment system. An onboard vacuum and refrigerator are available on the Toyota Sienna, but the Kia Sedona doesn't offer those amenities.

The Toyota Sienna has more standard features, including seven USB ports, BluetoothĀ®, voice command, tri-zone climate control, an 8-way adjustable driver's seat, dual-power sliding doors, and second-row sunshades. Muncy motorists can add a 12-speaker JBL premium audio system, dynamic navigation, Wi-Fi hotspot, and a 360-view camera.
